Traveline Cymru wants you to stay safe and enjoy the festive and New Year season to the full. This involves simple things such as planning your journey, avoiding walking home alone and driving responsibly.
We have put together some handy information and tips on how to get around safely this season whilst still having fun.
Drink Driving
We all enjoy a few drinks at Christmas and New Year so here are some handy hints and tips to 'think when you drink', click here.
The best option at this time of year is use public transport, walk or take a taxi. Don't Drink and Drive.
Public Transport
We suggest planning your journey by public transport before leaving the house via our journey planner or download a bus timetable.

You can also add the Traveline.txt service number of 84268 in your phone and find your unique bus stop code from our website, click here. This will give you information on the next 4 buses to that stop.
The reply is free and to avoid standing at a cold bus stop late at night, if there are no available buses we will send you the phone number of a local taxi firm.
Walk
If you choose to walk home late at night or simply after drinking alcohol then download the 'My Security App'.
This application has everything you need for a safe walk home, a friend tracker to ensure your friends are home safely, alert lights, a safety camera and panic button.
If you find your walk home is more difficult due to poor street lighting or you know of a street that needs better lighting or a footpath fixed then visit the Fix My Street website.
Car Share
Remember you can always share the driving over the Christmas period with a friend or colleague. Many bars and restaurants now offer free soft drinks for designated drivers, so don't forget to ask.
Taxi
The 'Cab Safe Scheme' will once again be running across Wales. An initiative designed to make sure people get home safely after a night out.
Anyone needing a taxi can text CAB to 83222 and their location will be pinpointed via their mobile phone signal. They will then receive a message with the numbers of three randomly picked licensed taxi firms closest to them.
The taxi marshal service will also be returning this season to town centres in Wales, to keep watch over town centre taxi queues and ensure taxi's are licensed. Look out for these marshals at taxi ranks in local town centres over the festive season, you can also read more about them here.
Scooter man
For something a little different and for those celebrating their Christmas parties in Cardiff.
Scooter man is a scheme based on 'you drink, we drive' in which an insured scooter man arrives on a folding scooter ready to drive you home in your car. For more information see here.
