Free travel for children in Swansea this Christmas

16th DECEMBER 2011

This Christmas Swansea Council will be operating a free travel scheme for puils in year 1 to year 11. The scheme means that 5 to16 year olds will not have to pay to use buses in Swansea between December 22 and January 8. It is hoped that the scheme will encourage more families to use public transport and come into the City Centre.

Pupils need to show a travel pass which are being distibuted via schools.

They are individually numbered, but pupils need to add their own name to the front.

Pupils then need to show the travel pass to drivers to obtain a free all-day travel ticket. They must show the pass with the ticket on subsequent buses.

Tickets are only valid for travel within the City & County of Swansea area and journeys must commence before 9.00pm.
