New bus service is just the ticket

Ellesmere Port station has a new bus shuttle service called the SP1 and SP2.

The service calls in to the station every hour and links the station, town centre bus station and Cheshire Oaks.

For those who want to travel further afield, the service also calls at Mold, Buckley, Queensferry and Deeside Industrial Park.

Councillor Justin Madders, of Cheshire West and Chester Council said: “It is exciting to hear about this new bus service, which gives local residents and people arriving by train the opportunity to catch a bus to Cheshire Oaks or into North Wales.

“Working with Flintshire County Council has given us another opportunity to develop our travel network.

And Cllr Derek Bateman added: “We have been working on local bus service providers direct with the operators with the help and support of the council’s transport co-ordination. We hope this will be the first of more improved local services.”
