London to Swansea Cyclists Want Your Support
If you were travelling from London to Swansea and wanted to be green you might take the train or a bus, but three men from Swansea want to do it the hard way - and cycle!
A team of intrepid cyclists are supporting Swansea's Environment Centre with an epic cycle ride from London to South West Wales. The group includes trustees and volunteers from this local charity, which raises environmental awareness and runs and supports a wide variety of projects and groups from its base in the Maritime Quarter, Swansea. The cycle is to collect much needed funds for the charity.
Environment Centre trustees David Judd, Alan Kreppel (also Chair of Traveline Cymru) & Brian Pawson, who range in age between fifty and seventy two years will leave the House of Commons in London on Thursday 12th August.
The 250 mile cycle will be along minor roads and cycle tracks and they hope to complete it in 5 days. They will be joined in Bristol by Tanya, Peter, Sam and Helen and welcomed back to Swansea by the Lord Mayor of Swansea on the 17th August.
The Centre is asking everyone who is able to support our cyclists and sponsor them in their huge efforts on our behalf. Online payment is available here.
