Buses on Gower: Still Going Strong
From Mid July, there will be several changes to bus services in the Gower.
Sunday service on the south Gower route is actually going to be at greater frequency than for many years. Veolia will be running 6 buses a day (service 118) each way and First Cymru, 4 a day each way (service X18). To and from Swansea, both will serve Parkmill, Oxwich, Scurlage, Port Eynon and Rhossili on all journeys.
Gower Explorer weekday daytime services continue as before offering a comprehensive service for visitors who want to go walking, to the beach and other attractions throughout Gower. With its frequent timetable and slick connections, virtually all parts of the peninsula are connected.
The Day Explorer ticket at just £4.00 still held at 2008 prices is ideal for trips to Swansea. Within the Peninsula, the Gower Coast Explorer is exceptional value at just £2.80. Both tickets have lower child prices and families of four travel at the cost of two adults.
First Cymru X18 will operate four journeys a day between Swansea, Oxwich Bay, Port Eynon and Rhossili on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holiday Monday. It will greatly improve frequency between Port Eynon and Rhossili giving greater flexibility for walkers doing a one way walk between the two.
Bishopston and Pennard evening services will continue with the last bus returning from Pennard to Swansea after 2300 hrs. First Cymru daytime 14 hourly services continue as normal.
Direct link to Mumbles on Fridays. BayTrans is financially supporting three round trips between Rhossili, Port eynon, Oxwich, Pennard and Mumbles on Fridays between 23rd July and 3rd September inclusive. A suitable day trip from these places will be possible for a Mumbles day out and Day Explorer tickets will be valid on this route. Calling en route at Pennard, it will be ideal for those wishing to take a Three Cliffs Bay walk round to Penmaen or Parkmill. A leaflet will be available shortly.
Late bus back from south Gower to Swansea. BayTrans is also financially supporting a later bus back from Rhossili at 2035 to Port Eynon, Horton, Reynoldston and Oxwich Bay; operates from 19th July to 4th September on Mondays to Saturdays. This gives late return to Swansea from all south Gower villages to Swansea. A leaflet will be available shortly.

Gower Heritage Centre: half price entry
Perriswood Archery: three archery lessons for price of two
National Trust Visitor Centre, Rhossili: 10% discounts on gifts and books
